The Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites, located directly across from Pearson International Airport, just announced the completion of a two-year, $15 million project that modernized one of the area’s biggest hotels.

The property’s first significant renovation since 1998, the top-to-bottom facelift has enhanced the hotel’s interior, guest room and meeting space with modern furnishings, rich colour schemes and cool textures.

“This renovation touched almost every corner of the hotel – from the lobby to our most luxurious suite – creating a stylish and comfortable respite from the hustle and bustle of Canada’s busiest airport and one of North America’s integral hubs,” says Gordon Chow, general manager, Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites. “Our remodeled 23,000 square feet of meeting space also makes us a great destination for groups looking to host their next event. The hotel can accommodate groups as large as 960 people.”

The renovation began in the fall of 2008 and was conducted in three phases.

  • Phase one: renovation of 268 guest rooms, hotel lobby, guest registration, lobby lounge and Bliss Restaurant and Lounge in 2008
  • Phase two: renovation of 151 guest suites in 2009
  • Phase three: renovation of 19 meeting rooms, corridors and fitness centre (summer 2010)
A contemporary theme greets guests in the hotel lobby, with a vaulted ceiling, spacious design, and modern furnishings in a soft grey and green earth tone palette. The meeting spaces feature new wall coverings, lighting fixtures and furnishings.

Warm tones, sheer linen fabrics and semi-private booths complement the progressive comfort fare at Bliss Restaurant & Lounge. Interior designer Anna Simone used earthy tones and a warm inviting oasis with a modern sophisticated and contemporary flair. The restaurant incorporates sustainable Ontario-grown produce and local Angus meats to create simple dishes meant to appeal to the most discerning palates. The restaurant seats up to 100 people for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
